To help new students prepare for classes and achieve success in their studies, the Library holds a series of orientation sessions from 14 August to 15 September 2025.

Each session will last for 30 minutes and will cover the following key issues:

  • Library opening hours
  • Loan rules
  • Search and access resources
  • Borrow laptops, and print / photocopy documents
  • Reserve group discussion rooms

By completing 3 simple steps in the session, participants will be able to enter the Lucky Draw and have a chance to win cash coupons!

To support self-learning in multiple disciplines, the Library has added the following new e-database to its collection:

This database provides more than 3,500 downloadable eBooks and audio learning resources covering multiple subject areas including AI, Communication Skills, Economics and Finance, Personal Development, and more. Online courses about different themes are also provided.

International Archives Week (IAW) 2025

Jointly presented by the Hong Kong Archives Society (HKAS) and Saint Francis University (SFU), the International Archives Week (IAW) 2025 will be held on 7 June 2025 (Saturday) from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on 2/F (Campus Commons) and 3/F (Room A320).

The IAW is an annual function organized by the HKAS. This year – for the first time – archival materials from Macau Catholic Diocese will be included. The School of Humanities and Languages, the School of Social Sciences and the Library will also join in and will exhibit their unique collections and treasures at the Expo.

To support research in traditional Chinese medicine, the Library has added the following new e-database to its collection:

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Knowledge Base Database (中醫藥知識庫).

This database provides vast information on diverse topics in traditional Chinese medicine, including diseases (疾病), formulae (方劑), Chinese Materia Medica (中藥), Chinese patent drugs (中成藥), ancient books (古籍), and clinical pathways (臨床路徑).

Banana Girl : An Art Exhibition

An exhibition entitled “Banana Girl”, which features the works of the celebrated comic artist Kei Lam, will be held from 23 April to 15 May 2025 at the Learning Commons.

Co-organized by the School of Humanities and Languages, Consulate General of France in Hong Kong & Macau, Alliance Francaise de Hong Kong and SFU Library, this event will not only showcase Kei Lam’s talent but will also create a joyful atmosphere that can help reduce students’ stress during the revision weeks and examination period.
