Recall
  • All checked-out items with loan period more than 14 days are subject to recall upon the reservation requests of other users.
  • Once an item is recalled, its due date may be shortened and cannot be renewed. It has to be returned in 14 days or by the original due date, whichever comes earlier.
  • A recall notice (with a revised due date) will be sent to the current borrower via email, informing the borrower to return the recalled item on or before the new due date.
  • Late return of recalled items will incur an overdue fine of HK$ 3 per item per day.
  • Recalled items will be available for pick-up by requesters in 3 days after email notification.
  • Check your email regularly in order to receive all loan notices from the Library on time and to avoid overdue fines.
Return
  • Library items must be returned on or before the due date.
  • All loans can be returned to the Service Counter during the library opening hours.
  • Fines are charged for late returns.
Book Drops for After Hours Returns
  • Books must be placed in book drops on or before the due date. Overdue books, short-term loans and all non-print library materials (e.g., audio-visual discs) should be checked in at the Service Counter and must not be placed in the book drops.
  • Books placed in the book drops will be backdated to the last day when the Library was open for check-in. The book drops will not be emptied on official holidays.
  • Please handle the books with great care and place them properly in the book drops. The Library will not be responsible for any damages or loss of the returned items, or any items placed outside the book drops.
  • If the books have been returned to the book drops but are still listed on your library record, please request a search for the returned items.
