Overdue Fines
- An item not returned on or before its due date is treated as an overdue item.
- Overdue fines are charged starting from the day after the due date (excluding Library closed days) as follows:

- Borrowing privileges will be suspended if there are outstanding fines, fees, or block messages in the borrower’s account.
- A Pre‑overdue Reminder will be emailed when an item is due within 3 days.
- On the 1st, 3rd, 7th, and 14th day after the due date, First, Second, Final Overdue Notice and Long Overdue Notice will be emailed respectively. Non‑receipt of notices is not accepted as a reason to waive fines.
- If the overdue item is not returned after the Long Overdue Notice is issued, borrowing privileges will be suspended until the item is returned.
Lost / Damaged Item
- If an item is reported lost or damaged, the borrower will be charged the replacement cost plus a processing fee of HK$ 100. Borrowing privileges will be suspended until charges are settled.
- Library materials remain Library property even if replacement charges are paid.
- If an item is claimed returned but not found, replacement and processing charges still apply unless staff locate the item.
