Library Workshop - JoVE Video Collection for Learning & Teaching in Health Sciences

To enhance effectiveness in learning and teaching with multimedia resources, an online workshop titled JoVE Video Collection for Learning & Teaching in Health Sciences will be offered. JoVE (Journal of Visualized Experiments) is a large video database of animations and real-life experiments covering diverse topics in Health Sciences, including clinical skills, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, as well as laboratory techniques and safety.

The workshop will showcase various features of JoVE and demonstrate how they can be utilized to develop strategies to support learning, teaching and research activities.

A professional trainer will:

  • Introduce JoVE and its value in Health Sciences education
  • Give an overview of the content of Nursing and Clinical Sciences in JoVE
  • Recommend strategies for using JoVE resources to support teaching and research
  • Demonstrate how to navigate the platform efficiently and find relevant resources

To boost research productivity with the powerful AI research tool Scite, an online training workshop titled Scite: Enhancing Research Efficiency with the Use of AI will be offered. The workshop will introduce practical skills to effectively use the AI-powered features to search for reliable resources, streamline research process and enhance the quality of outputs.

A professional trainer will:

  • Introduce Scite and its added value for resource evaluation and discovery
  • Explain the role of Smart Citations, Scite’s most prominent feature to assist with literature review by distinguishing between supporting or contrasting statements, or mere mentioning

To support research on systematic review, the Library will hold an online workshop titled Cochrane Library: Searching Evidence-Based Systematic Reviews. Cochrane Library is a premier collection of databases offering rich information in Health Sciences and is widely used to support evidence-based practice and inform healthcare decision-making.

A professional trainer from Wiley will be invited to conduct the online workshop.

The workshop will discuss how to:

  • Navigate the Cochrane Library and its suite of databases
  • Search effectively through systematic reviews and protocols in the Cochrane Library
  • Access Cochrane Clinical Answers for concise, clinician-friendly summaries
