Library Online Talk: Evidence-based Practice, Seven steps to the perfect PICO Search

The Library is pleased to organise an online talk: “Evidence-based Practice, Seven Steps to the Perfect PICO Search” with EBSCO, a well-known e-resources provider, to introduce the use of Health Science e-databases and the PICO process that help you develop literature search strategies on topics related to evidence-based practice in the field of Health Sciences.

The talk will cover:

  • Information on EBSCO e-databases in Health Sciences
  • Step-by-step guide on the PICO process
    • Formulate the PICO question
    • Identify keywords for each PICO element
    • Plan your search strategy
    • Execute the search
    • Review the literature
    • Determine the level of evidence
  • Searching scenarios demonstration

Library Online Talk: How to Get Your Research Paper Published

To support research and scholarly activities, the Library will organise an online talk: “How to Get Your Research Paper Published Successfully” with World Scientific, a renowned publisher, to share information about how you could pass through various stages of publication process to get your research paper published.

The talk will cover the following themes:

  • Select the right journal that will accept your paper and make the greatest impact
  • Understand the publication process and how editors think
  • Apply strategies to pass each stage of the publication process
  • Present your research effectively
  • Interpret criticism from reviewers correctly and address it without sounding defensive

New e-resource available - APA PsycINFO

The Library is pleased to offer a newly subscribed e-resource – APA PsycINFO.

PsycInfo is a citation database published by the American Psychological Associations. It provides comprehensive indexing and abstracts of the international psychological literature from the 1800s to the present. Coverage includes all areas of psychology: applied psychology, communication, developmental psychology, educational psychology, experimental psychology, personality, psychological and physical disorders.

Students and staff are welcome to access this resource via A-Z List of e-Databases.
