New e-resources Available at the start of 2023

The following newly subscribed e-databases supporting learning, teaching and research are now available for access.

Title Type Coverage
uCentral e-database

It contains all sorts of health information, including anatomy and physiology, physical examination as well as diseases and disorders, supplemented with medical dictionary, drug guides and clinical calculators.

OECD iLibrary e-database

Managed by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), it provides more than 20,000 full-text publications and resources including e-books, journals, podcasts, statistics and reports on a wide variety of economic and social topics around the globe.

Chinamaxx Digital Libraries 中文集献 e-books

It is a vast collection of about 705,000 Chinese e-book titles in a wide range of subjects, such as history, literature, social sciences, economy, art, religion, medicine and health.

Elsevier Business Management and Accounting Collection e-journals

It contains over 100 full-text academic journals in the subject areas of business, management and accounting, including topics in marketing, tourism and hospitality management.

Students and staff are welcome to search these resources via the A-Z List e-Databases or Discovery Search.


CBCC Library Carpet Replacement Project

The CBCC Library will undergo the Carpet Replacement Project during the period from January to March 2023. Temporarily closure of certain areas in the Library is required. As a result, part of the services and areas (e.g. borrowing, printing, IT Zone, Study Carrels etc.) may be affected. Users can approach our counter staff for assistance and use the CIHE Learning Commons as an alternative. Sorry for any inconvenience that may cause.

New e-resource available - ACM Digital Library

The Library is pleased to offer a newly subscribed e-resource – ACM Digital Library.

The ACM Digital Library is a comprehensive database focused on the field of computing and information science. It features over 11,000 full-text collections of journals, conference proceedings, technical magazines & newsletter articles, covering a wide spectrum of topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, Information Systems, Applications, Mathematics & Theories of Computing, Security & Privacy, Education, etc.

Students and staff are welcome to access this resource via A-Z List of e-Databases.

The Library is pleased to organize a workshop titled Citing Information Sources: APA (7th ed.) Referencing to show you how to cite various information sources according to the formats stipulated in the latest edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association for your research papers and assignments to avoid plagiarism.

Emerald Online Quiz: What Is Scholarly Communication?

All staff and students are now invited to join an online quiz organized by Emerald. If you have all THREE quiz questions answered correctly on or before 9 December 2022, you will enter the lucky draw and have a chance to win one of the 3 fabulous prizes. Winner of the quiz will be contacted via email.The result will also be posted up on the library website if the winner is from the CIHE / CBCC community.

2022 EBSCO search competition

The EBSCO search competition for “Weight Management” is now running from now through 31 December 2022. By participating in this event, you will have a chance to win the SONY SRS-NB10 Wireless Neckband Speaker!

The winner will be drawn every month and notified via email. The result will also be posted up on the library website if the winner is from the CIHE / CBCC community.
