Road to IELTS - Take your English to the Next Level
The Library is pleased to announce that an online talk titled “Road to IELTS – Take your English to the Next Level” will be held jointly with Clarity English on 12-October-2020 (Monday)
The talk will highlight the IETLS examination and introduce you to “Road to IELTS”, a library subscribed e-resource that helps you prepare for the English test. It will also introduce a suite of online courses for English learners to sharpen their skills in specific language areas, including grammar, essay / report writing, reading etc.
Topics to be covered:
- Introduction to IELTS and use of ‘Road to IELTS’ for self-learning and practice
- Highlight of “Practical Writing’ and ‘Tense Buster’
- Set up individual account for checking your learning progress
- Q&A session

Revised Service Hours & Re-Opening of the Learning Commons
In light of the current situation of COVID-19, the Library will re-open the Learning Commons and adjust its opening hours as follows with effect from 15 September 2020:

Health protection measures
- Users must wear a surgical mask within the Library at all times.
- Users are advised to clean their hands with alcohol-based handrubs placed at the entrance to the CBCC Library.
- Seating has been reduced at study areas and plastic partitions have been installed to separate computer workstations.
- Group discussion rooms will remain closed. No booking services will be offered.
Return of loaned items
All overdue fines of library loaned items with due dates that fall on 31 August 2020 and after will be waived until 5 October 2020 inclusive (excluding reserve collection items).

Library Orientation 2020
Welcome to the new academic year 2020-21.
In order to get you familiar with the library environment and to equip you with basic information literacy skills for study and research in the coming years, the Library will hold a series of online orientation sessions via zoom from 17 Sept to 30 Sept 2020. During the session, you will explore:

- What can be found in the Library? (e.g. print books, e-books, audio-visual materials, printing & photocopying services, computer workstations)
- How to use Discovery Search effectively?

The Library is pleased to announce that a talk on “Introduction to ClinicalKey for Nursing” will be held jointly with Elsevier via Zoom on 9-September-2020 (Wednesday), from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
Content that will be covered in the talk:
- Content available in ClinicalKey for nursing
- How to conduct searches and browse the resource
- Account registration and the steps for accessing the mobile app both on / off campus
- Other tools available (e.g Clinical Calculators, Bookshelf)

Special Arrangements for the Return of Loaned Items
In light of the latest development of COVID-19, all overdue fines of library loaned items with due dates that fall on 31 August 2020 and after will be waived until 5 October 2020 inclusive (excluding reserve collection items).
Students who will be graduating in the Academic Year 2019-2020 should return their loaned items to the Library as soon as possible. Book drops service is also available outside the entrances to the CBCC Library and CIHE Learning Commons.
